About Us

Chartiers Community Mental Health and Retardation Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit agency established in 1969 under the MH/MR Act of Pennsylvania. Chartiers Center's team of dedicated Board Members, staff, and volunteers have served the mental health and mental retardation needs of the community for over 30 years and with your support, we will continue to meet the needs of individuals and their families.

Chartiers has grown to offer a wide range of mental health and mental retardation services for individuals and their families. Visit Mental Health and Mental Retardation. Chartiers Center's professional staff is here to meet the needs of individuals in the community. Our staff consists of dedicated, caring, educated professionals who work to support the individuals we serve. One of Chartiers most popular programs provides community activities for teens and adults with mental retardation. Chartiers receives funding from Allegheny County and the Department of Public Welfare. Charges for services are based on a sliding fee scale. We accept most third party insurance. Contributions are always welcome and help support our programs.
