Volunteer Opportunities

photo of volunteersVolunteers are an important connection between Chartiers and the community we serve. Volunteers provide support to direct care staff, clerical assistance, filing, computer support, supervision for individuals participating in Chartiers' Community Activities Program, and encouragement to individuals receiving treatment.

"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."

At Chartiers Center many opportunities exist for people looking for a flexible volunteer opportunity in a warm and friendly environment. Chartiers welcomes individual volunteers, retirees, teens, youth groups, church groups, and corporate volunteers. Opportunities are available during the day, evenings and week-ends. Volunteers are scheduled when they are available; it may be a weekly commitment, monthly, or a couple times per year.

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Assist special needs clients
  • Share time and talents
  • Provide clerical assistance
  • Play cards, games and puzzles
  • Assist with community activities
  • Provide companionship
  • Play musical instruments
  • Collect personal care items
  • Sponsor a community service project

Volunteer in a warm and friendly environment.

Financial Support

If time is a problem, you may want to consider supporting Chartiers Center's programs through a donation. Contributions can be made to Chartiers Center in memory of someone special, to honor a birthday or special occasion, to support the "Building Fund" (a new site for the Vocational Training Center), or a program of your choice.

In addition, gifts can be made to Chartiers through the United Way Contributor Choice Program. Please use agency code #201 or the Combined Federal Campaign, code #8953.

For more information on volunteer opportunities at Chartiers Center, to make a donation, or to receive a copy of our Annual Report, call (412) 221-3302, extension 118 or send an email to: mbonn@chartierscenter.org.
