SUBSTANCE USE OUTPATIENT THERAPY

Between our Intensive Outpatient Therapy, Medication Assisted Treatment & Individual Therapy, our SAOP provides a full range of services to help support & stabilize our clients’ mental health & prevent relapse.

Intensive Outpatient – Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) offer a unique approach to substance use and co-occurring mental health disorder treatment. IOPs give the patients more freedom, allowing them to access treatment while continuing to work and/or live at home. Group therapy is a crucial element of an IOP. Sharing thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe space with other individuals who are on the same path of recovery helps patients feel less alone and allows them to build relationships with people who understand what they are going through.

Our Director of Outpatient services talks about the benefits of attending IOP in this article!

Individual Therapy – When practiced with compassion, gratitude and respect, mindfulness is a powerful tool to help improve anyone’s mental health & well-being. At Chartiers our therapists utilize Mindfulness as part of our individual therapy to help our clients observe their emotions without judgement. Individual therapy can also help identify triggers and develop better coping and communication skills to continue your recovery journey and prevent relapses.

Medication Assisted Treatment – Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is a vital approach for treating substance use disorders (SUDs), particularly opioid use disorder, and alcohol use disorder. MAT combines medications with counseling and behavioral therapies, providing a comprehensive approach to treatment. At Chartiers Center we provide treatment in the form of Suboxone & Vivitrol.

Our Medical Director, Dr. B, breaksdown the myths & facts surrounding medication assisted treatments in this article!
