We were notified late last week that Bernie Grant, one of Chartiers Center’s longest tenured Board members had died unexpectedly. Having served on the Board of Directors for many years, he was always a champion of Chartiers Center. According to Sue Coyle, CEO, “Bernie was a true believer in the mission of Chartiers. He often dropped by to say hello and always complimented the work of our staff members. It’s not easy to find people who are willing to devote such a large portion of their lives on a volunteer basis to the cause of service to the mentally ill and disabled.” Bernie’s welcoming smile and ongoing support will be missed by all the staff. Our friend has passed on to share his brand of kindness with others.
