Telemedicine Services Provide Positive Experience for Consumers

Mar 24, 2020

CaptureAt Chartiers Center we remain available for your clinical care. We provide an essential service for our consumers with mental health concerns, and our doctors and therapists offer virtual office visits, through “Telemedicine.”
Consumers using the telemedicine service have reported positive experiences and share the following: “Thankful to still be able to talk to my therapist and stay safe” “Relieved not to have to leave my home because I have a compromised immune system and still receive services” and “Eased my anxiety of not having to go outside.”
How does Telemedicine Work? You will be able to communicate with your doctor/therapist via video, similar to a Skype or FaceTime chat. The best way to participate in telemedicine is with a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera. Our staff will assist you in arranging a telemedicine visit and provide instructions on how to access your doctor/therapist at the time of your appointment. If you find yourself in need of help please call the intake line 412 221-3302 ext.123.

What Is Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation?

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services are founded on the firm belief that people can and do recover from mental illness, including the most severe and persistent diagnoses. Psych Rehab providers define recovery not by a lack of symptoms, but by the presence of meaning and purpose in one’s life. Participants in Chartiers Center’s Mobile Psych Rehab (MPR) program choose the recovery goals they want to work on and then meet regularly with their MPR staff to learn, enhance, and practice the skills they need to reach those goals.

Healing Invisible Wounds

For many Veterans, the battle doesn’t end when they return home. The experiences of deployment, combat exposure, loss, and the transition back to civilian life can take a profound toll on mental well-being. While every Veteran’s story is unique, the mental-health challenges they face often share common threads: post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, substance use, and a lingering sense of isolation. The good news is that effective, compassionate treatment options exist—and awareness and accessibility have grown dramatically over the past decade.
