Training and Social Rehab (T&SR) Program has reopened and everyone is happy to be back! The group shared their thoughts in the Spring Edition of the T&SR Times. Read and enjoy their poems written to honor World Poetry Day. Or perhaps you want to take a stab at writing a definition for new words. Ever hear of “croidpeach“? How about “pulsemorse“?  We will stop here and encourage you to read the T&SR Times. A one of a kind newsletter that promotes creative expression. Spring2021newsletter

T&SR program provides social rehabilitation to adults with behavioral health challenges. Clients participate in aCapture shared community setting that builds self-esteem and confidence and fosters independence through group activities and community activities and events. To qualify for the program individuals must be 18 years of age and in mental health treatment, either at Chartiers Center or another facility. A referral requires a recommendation by the treatment team if the client is participating in Chartiers Treatment Services. If the client is involved with an external provider, a copy of the psychiatric evaluation is required and must be dated within the year.  Once obtained, the completed referral form and psychiatric evaluation, if appropriate, should be forwarded to the Assistant COO of RTS. For more information review the referral form or contact AMY RANDAL, Social Rehabilitation Coordinator at arandal@chartierscenter.org, (phone) 412-561-3390 (fax) 412-561-5902

What Is Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation?

What Is Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation?

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services are founded on the firm belief that people can and do recover from mental illness, including the most severe and persistent diagnoses. Psych Rehab providers define recovery not by a lack of symptoms, but by the presence of meaning and purpose in one’s life. Participants in Chartiers Center’s Mobile Psych Rehab (MPR) program choose the recovery goals they want to work on and then meet regularly with their MPR staff to learn, enhance, and practice the skills they need to reach those goals.

Healing Invisible Wounds

For many Veterans, the battle doesn’t end when they return home. The experiences of deployment, combat exposure, loss, and the transition back to civilian life can take a profound toll on mental well-being. While every Veteran’s story is unique, the mental-health challenges they face often share common threads: post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, substance use, and a lingering sense of isolation. The good news is that effective, compassionate treatment options exist—and awareness and accessibility have grown dramatically over the past decade.
