Chartiers Center’s Substance Abuse Outpatient Program is here to help 412 221-3302 ext.123

Nov 13, 2017

Outpatient Therapy and an Intensive Outpatient Therapy Programs are available to help people struggling with addictions. The program is located at 515 Washington Rd., Bridgeville, PA and is conveniently minutes from the I-79 Bridgeville exit.  The Chartiers’ program is open to adolescents and adults age 12 and older who have displayed a need for substance abuse treatment services and require Outpatient Services. The Substance Abuse Treatment Program also provides the appropriate level of care for consumers who are diagnosed with a co-occurring mental health disorder. The program includes individual counseling, family counseling, psychiatric evaluations and, if needed, medication management. Services can be utilized as a step down from a higher level of care, or as a first step in assisting a consumer who is suffering from a substance use disorder.
If you are interested in our services, or you need to refer a new consumer, please contact our main intake line at (412) 221-3302 x123. You, or the consumer, will be asked to complete a brief telephone screening and then an intake appointment will be scheduled. The intake appointment will consist of a more in-depth assessment of the current presenting concerns and the consumer’s readiness for change. During the consumer’s time in treatment, care will be coordinated with any other providers involved in the consumer’s life. A variety of insurances are accepted including all UPMC Healthplan products, Community Care Behavioral Health, Medicaid and Medicare.
Specialized services, to treat and support consumers with a substance abuse problem include:

    1. Intensive outpatient programming – is where consumers spend an average of three (3) half days/week in aggressive treatment. The IOP group counseling is scheduled for 90 minutes. Groups may include: psychoeducational groups, skills development, support groups and interpersonal process groups. Many courses of treatment span 12 to 16 weeks before a consumer steps down to less intensive treatment.
    2.  Use of Vivitrol – Vivitrol is a medically assisted treatment that is shown to have significant outcomes. It is a non-narcotic, non-addictive, non pleasure-producing medication and stopping it will not induce withdrawal symptoms. Consumers using this medication are required to participate in ongoing counseling throughout the duration of their treatment. Counseling services will address recovery specific issues and methods for maintaining long term sobriety.
    3. Use of Narcan – Chartiers Center staff who are direct service providers will be trained on administering Narcan and able to take appropriate measures to help someone in the case of a suspected opioid overdose. These employees will be trained on opioid overdose, interventions and the use of Narcan.

Chartiers Center is working along with other providers, schools, public safety departments, hospitals, legislatures, and the local community at large to get the word out that treatment is available. We invite you to share the information with friends and families in need of substance abuse services. Chartiers’ staff of doctors and therapists wants to help you achieve sobriety. If you have any questions, or would like more information about the program, please contact us at (412)221-3302 x123.

What Is Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation?

What Is Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation?

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services are founded on the firm belief that people can and do recover from mental illness, including the most severe and persistent diagnoses. Psych Rehab providers define recovery not by a lack of symptoms, but by the presence of meaning and purpose in one’s life. Participants in Chartiers Center’s Mobile Psych Rehab (MPR) program choose the recovery goals they want to work on and then meet regularly with their MPR staff to learn, enhance, and practice the skills they need to reach those goals.

Healing Invisible Wounds

Healing Invisible Wounds

For many Veterans, the battle doesn’t end when they return home. The experiences of deployment, combat exposure, loss, and the transition back to civilian life can take a profound toll on mental well-being. While every Veteran’s story is unique, the mental-health challenges they face often share common threads: post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, substance use, and a lingering sense of isolation. The good news is that effective, compassionate treatment options exist—and awareness and accessibility have grown dramatically over the past decade.
