Today, our corporate offices are closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. But like Dr. King, we know that our work to support those struggling in our community never stops. Our residential programs remain open 24-7, 365 days a year.
When Dr. King formed the Poor People’s Campaign in November 1967, he did so with the expressed purpose of addressing the broad economic inequalities that exist throughout the United States. The campaign was built on a simple idea; that all people, regardless of income or background, should have all that they need to live a fulfilling life.
At Chartiers Center, we work to make that idea a reality in our community. Through all our programs, we help people with mental health issues, developmental disabilities, or addiction work toward living their best life. While our methods differ, that goal always remains the same.
As we continue this work, we do so with Dr. King’s message in mind – that everyone in our community deserves to live a full life.
